## Main content

aurèce vettier participated in the Kinono Residency in Tinos in the Spring of 2022, where he worked with two raw materials from the island: wind and marble.

Focusing on a practice that enables him to work between physical and virtual space, he built a wind measuring device, Deiopea, with which he recorded the wind in twenty locations on the island. The direction of the wind, the speed in meters per second, and the coordinates of each location were recorded by the device and triggered an algorithm that converted the invisible and intangible winds into shapes. The patterns imprinted by the wind itself with the help of the algorithm were then engraved by the artist on slabs of Tinian marble, thus approaching the Tinian's long tradition and skill in marble carving.

The exhibition presents aurèce vettier's artistic research and works produced entirely in Tinos, introducing the visitors to an original wind-centred exploration of the island.
