自然に対する私たちの記憶は時間の経過とともに徐々に薄れていき、気づかないうちに、人々は環境の継続的な劣化に慣れていきます。各世代は、幼少期に出会った自然環境をその規範として受け入れています。

アメリカの心理学者ピーター・H・カーンはこの心理現象を「環境世代記憶喪失」と呼んでいます。この段階的な忘却に対抗するため、研究者たちは力を合わせて、生態学的視点から歴史を記録する方法を編み出し、自然とのつながりを取り戻すことを目指しています。

the artists と科学者の集合知は、新しい技術、特にデジタル技術を使用して、忘れ去られた自然の状態とのつながりを取り戻し、それに対する人々の記憶を保存しています。

本展覧会では、15人のアーティストの作品が絵画、ビデオ、タペストリー、ドローイング、インスタレーション、拡張現実、彫刻など様々なメディアで展示されており、the artists には自然と技術を調和させ、生命あるものとの関係を再考することが求められています。3つの段階で構成された本展覧会は、まず自然の過去の劣化を想起させることから始まります。次に、自然の巧妙さと脆弱性を探求し、それを保護する必要性の緊急性を認識させます。第3段階では、the artists によって想像されたさまざまな思索的な未来が提示され、予測的なナラティブは共生関係への希望を反映しています。
