『シークレット・フォームズ』展は、鑑賞者が境界線を越え、より近くで見ることで異なる世界を発見するよう促す展覧会である。スケールは移り変わり、大きさは調整される。ひとつのパターンに見えたものが、次のパターンへと変容していく。これらの形態は感覚的には見慣れたものでありながら、実際には異質なものとして立ち現れることがある。

アートは時に、語られざる規則ゆえに距離があり近寄りがたく感じられたり、専門的な言葉をまとっていたりすることがある。『シークレット・フォームズ』展において、外見はあくまで始まりに過ぎない。それぞれの作品の奥には、掘り起こされるのを待つより深い物語が横たわっている。鑑賞者は、作品の背後にある真のインスピレーションと意味を発見し、その起源にまつわる物語と予期せぬ意味を明らかにするよう誘われる。

展覧会に並ぶそれぞれの作品は、自然界あるいは想像上の世界に現れるある形態に根ざしている。謎めいて見えるものは、異なる視点を通して見られた現実に由来しているのかもしれない。生物的で自然に見えるものは、実は異世界的なものかもしれない。

歴史的な作品と新進の作品の双方を通じて、本展は過去と現在、親密なものと無限なるものとを結びつけ、既知のものとその手の届かぬ先に存在するものとの境界に挑む。
