D3SIGN CAPSULE Musée des Archives Nationales, Paris

Group exhibition
10 September — 18 September 2022
Curated by Jean-Christophe Camuset

In 2022, to mark its 35th anniversary, ELLE Décoration launched D3SIGN CAPSULE, an experimental project bringing together the worlds of interior design and digital art.
16 leading designers and architects were paired with sixteen digital artists to imagine new forms of inhabiting space—across physical interiors, virtual environments, and the emerging territories of the metaverse.

Each collaboration resulted in a distinct body of work conceived at the intersection of design, art, and technology. Rather than treating the digital as a simple extension of the physical world, D3SIGN CAPSULE invited the participating artists and designers to develop shared visual languages and speculate on what the interiors of the future might become.
The resulting works moved between objects and images, material and immaterial spaces, questioning how architecture, decoration, and artistic practice could evolve within increasingly hybrid environments.

Presented from September 10 to 18, 2022 at the Archives Nationales in Paris during Paris Design Week, the exhibition was staged by designer Sam Baron within the historic apartments of the Princesse de Soubise, bringing digital works displayed on screens into dialogue with physical pieces and the architecture of the site.
The corresponding digital collections were subsequently presented through a dedicated D3SIGN CAPSULE space on SuperRare.
